The Holidays are a special time to give back. AFI however does not support individuals or families directly. When So when AFI’s board member Freddie Lowe suggested we do something special for a family during the Thanksgiving holidays of 2019, Dr. Larry Nettles reminded the board of our bylaws. The board then but on its thinking cap to determine how to bless a family in our community with a holiday gift. Since AFI had been working with YBU’s Jeffrey Henderson, who was actively working in community we decided to ask for his assistance. Jeffrey was eager to help and knew of families in community that needed assistance. To make a long story short, YBU’s Jeffrey Henderson located the family and AFI was able to make a contribution to YBU to support a deserving family in our community. AFI and YBU joined together to give a check for $500 as a blessing to the family. Below are a few pictures of the deserving family.
